This BME award for our International Procurement Services Organization confirms the success of our global purchasing strategy, which is aimed at shaping the world’s most effective supplier network.” said Thomas W. Sidlik, Member of the DaimlerChrysler Board of Management responsible for Global Procurement & Supply. Dr. Heinrich Reidelbach, Vice President and Head of IPS, commented on the award: “The strategy of IPS is built on global standardization and bundling to continuously improve our purchasing results without putting the burden solely on our suppliers. In order to continue down this path, we have introduced new and innovative tools, such as unified and transparent supplier ratings or the strategic qualification of our employees.” Since 1986, the BME Award has been recognizing innovative services and concepts, which lead to a sustainable increase in the efficiency of procurement and supply activities, thus contributing to both company results and creating value for all market partners involved.
